Purpleheart is a funny wood. When it's cut from the log, it's kinda brown.
If you ever buy any purpleheart, and it's not real purple...no problem.
Just set it in the sun for a day or two. It'll purple right up.
Then, be sure and protect it with a UV protective finish, and you'll have that
beautiful purple for years to come!!
